Like most DVCPROHD components, this deck is a true utility player. Records and plays in 1080i, 720P and plays back and upconverts standard-def DVCPRO50. Allows HD I/O via IEEE 1394 digital interface (firewire). Can accept a 4 pin DC power supply for field use. The deck will also cross convert, down convert and up convert all manner of signals from standard-def to every flavor of high-def. The true brilliance of the deck comes through in the up-conversion. Need to conform everything to 1080i but you've shot footage on the popular Varicam? Put the tape in the deck, tell it to send 1080i to your edit system or HDCAM deck and you have a 1080i project shot on the Varicam. This deck also accepts tapes shot on the HDX900, whereas many previous DVCPROHD decks are not capable of playing these tapes.
